Imaging Research Laboratory, Department of Radiology
The University of Pittsburgh, Department of Radiology is recruiting for a full-time Associate Professor, Tenure, to serve within our Imaging Research Laboratory. The radiological imaging research division is involved in a number of projects aimed at evaluating and improving imaging procedures in a clinical environment. The division’s research findings have resulted in numerous basic and applied publications and presentations in every major radiology journal and at society meetings.
Job responsibilities include:
· Developing techniques that can have an important clinical impact and clinical trials of novel breast imaging technologies
· Writing scientific manuscripts and grant applications
· Training and mentoring of students and post-docs
· Supporting other researchers in a group setting
· Teaching
A successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
· Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, or a related field and have completed postdoctoral training by the start of the position
· Demonstrated research interest in radiological physics and computer and information science
· Ability to multi-task simultaneous projects and effectively manage time
The successful applicant will be appointed in the Department of Radiology. Areas of interest include (but are not limited to) radiological physics, computer and information science, and evaluation of diagnostic systems and clinical practices. The position will report to the Director of the Imaging Research Laboratory. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience.
